I too am from the midwest and grew up in the very same time period as you all did. Your stories and memories did hit close to home and made me laugh and smile when remembering similar happenings in my childhood and teen years. I do have many friends from the last 47 years from different walks of life, and I am grateful for every one of them. I am a twin and have always had my sister, than married at 17 and have since had my husband. I am sending the book to a friend back in Texas that lives for her friends and I can see her making the slippers as well. I went on line and printed directions for her.
